Ridge Augmentation

Ridge augmentation is recommended to correct concavities in the jawbone. These deformities result from periodontal disease, denture wear, developmental defects, injury or trauma. In this procedure, the periodontist lifts the gum away from the ridge to expose the bony defect, which is then filled with bone or bone substitute to enhance the ridge. The regeneration of lost bone and tissue increases the successful placement of implants and enhances the gingival margin around restorations
